Ministerial Servicom Unit Commends NTI Management

Mr. Sam Anako, the Head of the Ministerial SERVICOM Unit, Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja ,  has commended the management of NTI for  approving the   familiarisation visit embarked by the Institute’s Servicom Staff .

Anako made the commendation when the NTI’s Servicom team led by the Head of the Division and Nodal Officer, Mrs. Udeme Ayodeji, the  Deputy Director Servicom visited him on a familiarisation at the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja on Tuesday, May 7 , 2019 .

Earlier, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli , the National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer, SERVICOM at the Presidency advised NTI Service to improve on its service delivery to enable its  compete favourably with Servicom of sister agencies.

She further advised the Institute to forward a letter to the National Office of SERVICOM to enable its rejoin the ‘’Protocol List’’. 

Akajemeli said by joining the protocol list of Servicom, it will enable the Institute’s SERVICOM to benefit from some privileges like active involvement in all activities organised by the presidency, such as meetings and Resource Interactive Programs.

The Institute’s Servicom team was taken round on facilities’ tour of the SERVICOM Institute, where it  is expected to re-visit again for staff training.

Mrs. Udeme Ayodeji, the Deputy Director  Servicom, in the Department of Quality Assurance and ICT of the Institute, who  was the former  NTI state Coordinator in Delta State said the objectives of the visit are to measure up to expectation , satisfy the Institute’s customers and familiarise and update Servicom staff on some activities.

‘’ The management should please look into the possibility of sending staff of the Division to the SERVICOM Institute for capacity building workshops, ‘’ she said.

In a related development, the staff of SERVICOM Division were in Nasarawa State between June 24 and 28, 2019 for capacity building workshop, which was organised by SERVICOM Institute.

The workshop, which had in attendance ICPC , ITF, Prisons Services, representatives of the State House and Federal Ministry of Finance, among others was held at JVM hotel, Karu, Nasarawa State  with the theme ‘’Leading change for service improvement.”

The Workshop, which was one of the series was conducted mainly for SERVICOM new Nodal and Desk Officers in MDAs.

According to Mrs. Udeme, the Institute’s Deputy Director Servicom,   the workshop was an eye opener to the participants on how SERVICOM should operate in various MDAs for effective service delivery and improvement.

‘’ It was indeed a superb experience that undoubtedly helped the division to come up with objective recommendations which will support the management in achieving the mandate, Mission and Vision of the Institute in all our service windows, ‘’ she  concluded.

The workshop reminded participants that in service delivery, the satisfaction of customers is the overriding consideration.

The MDAs were advised to concentrate more on ICT and dedicate some lines purposely for customer care and complaints in SERVICOM Unit.

In a report forwarded to the management, which was also made available to The Bulletin,  the SERVICOM Division recommended among others that the management should please look into the possibility of providing some dedicated lines for enquiries and complaints to be handled by SERVICOM Division.

Recall that as part of effort to revitalise and improve the Institute’s service delivery, the Servicom Division has also carried out a nationwide sensitisation and evaluation exercise  for the 36 states and the FCT in June , 2019, where centre managers were sensitised at the state offices and evaluation carried out .

The Servicom staff who were in the team are  Mrs.  Rabi  Ahmed, Charter Desk Officer and Adamu Abubakar Lame, Customer Care and Complaint Officer. Others are Bello Ibrahim and  Muhammad Ibrahim, Service Improvement Desk Officer.
