RETIREMENT: ACADEMIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT ORGANISED SENDFORTH FOR OLUDE, OLASINDE AND JASPER

The Institute’s Academic Services Department staff, led by Mr Ndem Y. Ndem, their new Ag. Director organised a send forth for its outgoing staff on Monday, June 25 at the SMASE’s Hall. Those sentforth included Mr Ademola Olude, the immediate past Acting Director of the department, and Mrs Kudirat Olasinde, a Deputy Director Planning, Research and Development Division with the department.

Others included Mr. Jasper Abimiku, a former Deputy Director Continuing Professional Development and Mallam Jajere Mohammed Adamu, an Assistant Director (now deceased). In his appreciation for the honour done to them, Olude thanked Prof. Garba Dahuwa Azare, the NTI Director-General and Chief Executive as well as the Institute’s management, in addition to praying for the Institute to reach its greater heights. He however, advised that the Institute should improve its internet services. Earlier, Ndem who had during his opening remarks, described the moment as solemn, also said he had worked with Olude in Imo State, Programme Design and Development Division of the department as well as NTI’s  South-South Zonal office.

He said they had, as a result of having worked together severally, developed a cordial relationship with each other during the period. He applauded Olude and his colleagues, who were retiring for laying a strong foundation in addition to congratulating and eulogising him. Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Yakubu Akaaba Momoh, the Director Field Operations and Students’ Services (FOSS) Department, described Olude as an experienced person with a vast knowledge of the Institute. He recalled that as a newly employed person 19 years ago, when he first met Olude, he learnt in a day, what would have taken him two weeks to learn about the Institute. Responding, Olude thanked God and all those who gathered to celebrate and honour them.

“Life is like a chapter in a book, when you finish a chapter, you move on to the next one, till the end of the book, which is the end of life as destined by God”, he said.

He thanked the NTI Management, and described Prof. Garba Dahuwa Azare, NTI Director-General and Chief Executive as a“ father and a man of honour and integrity’’.  Also speaking, Olasinde thanked God for enabling her to see the day after 35 years in service, out of which 24 years were spent in the service of the Institute. Abimiku on his part, described the situation as glorious. He advised that people must not be caught unawares about retirement and that they should be prepared. In his Closing remarks, Mal. Bashir Mamman, the Director Examinations, described Olude as a mentor and recalled that he was responsible for his transfer from Staff Primary school to the department. He said Olude believed in the capacity building of staff, mentoring and carrying them along for continuity and progress. Mamman congratulated him and his colleagues on a successful career. The outgoing staff were presented with gifts, as a mark of appreciation from the staff of the department.
